SWII 2023 focuses on Additive Manufacturing & Lightweight Technologies and matches the R&D heaviest Swiss & Swedish MNEs, SMEs & academia with the goal to launch joint market-oriented R&D projects.
Subtopics within Additive Manufacturing & Lightweight Technologies that are of interest for joint innovation projects are:
a) LIGHTWEIGHT TECHNOLOGIES & COMPOSITES
- Sustainability (Circular value chains, Sustainable production processes, Life cycle perspective on lightweight design and product development)
- Multifunctionality (Multiple functions of materials, components and systems, Innovative functions, Improved properties
- Digitalization of production (Engineering and supply chain, More efficient development methods, Reduction of material and processing costs, High volume production of mixed material design)
b) ADDITIVE MANUFACTURING
- Geometry and design optimization: structure and surface texture; Design methods including rules, standards, software support, sustainable design; Software design for integration into current production lines
- Digitization and business model development: Value chain optimization, competence transfer, process productivity optimization (digitalization, process simulation, geometry simulation, path planning), spare parts and repair
- Manufacturing and post process development: Tooling, tailored microstructures, hybrid processes, process/quality control/monitoring and verification, automation, post-manufacturing treatment, joining, set-up and process time minimization, support material reduction, safety
- Metal powder development:Powder manufacturing alloys, Materials characterization,Standardization
More sub-thematic are currently added by the partners and are to be included in the call for co-funding
